Old world craftsmanship, quality materials and an uncompromising commitment to customer service have made Meisel the choice of students and professionals for stringed instruments and accessories.

The Meisel name has been associated with stringed instruments since the 17th century. Since that time generations of Meisel artisans have dedicated themselves to making high quality stringed instruments.

Meisel violins, violas, cellos and basses are made in the finest European tradition, and most are constructed with full ebony trimmings, full corner blocks, full neck and endpin blocks, full inside lining and inlaid purflings.

Meisel instruments feature woods and varnishes that are of a level of quality rarely, if ever, found in their price range.

Our instruments exceed the National Association for Music Education (MENC) specifications.  Each instrument is finished at the Meisel violin shop. Bridges are individually cut, fingerboards are carefully shaped and aligned, and pegs are fitted to turn smoothly and hold tension.

In addition to stringed instruments, Meisel offers a wide selection of strings and accessories including the famous Meisel stands that set up ‘in a snap.”
